The 2012/13 Himalaya Trekking Season has begun!

This week trekkers from all around the world will begin their travels to Nepal for the start of the trekking season. It’s not too late to book your trek in the Himalayas for this season, we have availability throughout the season on all four of our worthwhile and culturally responsible treks.

Whilst the season is beginning, we should take a moment to make sure that all trekkers are aware of, and can minimize, their impact on the environment they are walking in.

A few things to remember:

  • Reduce your impact on the environment by sticking to footpaths
  • Avoid using plastic bottles of mineral water, it may taste great but disposing of plastic bottles properly is impossible whilst trekking.
  • Take all your litter away with you.
  • Stay in local lodges and tea houses so that you can meet local people and help the local economy. This is far better than camping – and warmer on those winter nights!

And finally, take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints.

Happy trekking!
